1. To foster historical interests and knowledge, particularly but not exclusively in this district.

2. To collect, preserve and display items of historical interest in accordance with current policies of the Society.

3. To compile and keep a historical record of the district.

4. To work towards the establishment of a Museum.

5. To work for the preservation of buildings and objects of architectural and historical interest.

6. To publish and to assist in the publication of works of a historical nature.

7. To raise funds for the fulfilment of the above projects.
