Sunshine Swimming Pool Under Constructio

After much lobbying for a replacement pool for the dangerous Kororoit Creek Pool, Sunshine opened it's new 50m Olympic sized pool on the 22nd February 1961.

The pool has seen many children learn how to swim, it has been the scene of family days, teenage meeting spot and school's sporting carnivals.

During winter the pool was stocked with trout and used by the local fishing club.

Due to cracking, the first pool was demolished and the whole site redeveloped.

The new Sunshine Leisure Centre has a number of accessible features including;

  • An eight lane, 25 metre indoor heated pool.

  • An eight lane, 25 metre outdoor heated pool.

  • An 20 metre program pool with ramp entry.

  • An indoor leisure pool with beach entry and interactive water features.

  • An outdoor DplasPad.

  • A spa and steam room.

  • A fully equipped 24 hour access gym with separate areas for group fitness and cycle.

  • Virtual fitness

  • Change room facilities catering for families, schools and people with a disability.

  • Creche facilities with an outdoor play area.

  • Centrally located cafe.
