Cairnlea Heritage Trail

Produced in 2010 by the Friends of the Black Powder Mill with the assistance of the Brimbank City Council.

 

Two Separate Walks through the site of the former Albion Explosive Factory 1939 - 1986 with the option of combining the two walks together.

Walk 1 - The Northern Circuit. The Black Powder Mill to Iramoo Wildflower Grasslands Reserve and return via Cairnlea Lake (5km, approximately 1 1/2 hours).

 

Walk 2 - The Southern Circuit. The Black Powder Mill to Elford Green and return along the Kororoit Creek (6.6km, approximately 1 1/4 hours).

Combination of the two walks - Join the two walks together (8km, approximately 2 hours)
