This building was built for Nuts Foods Pty Ltd in 1957
The building was designed by Frederick Romberg, a Swiss-trained architect who migrated to Australia in 1938.
The standout feature of the building was it's Miesian alternating black & clear glass curtain wall fronting Ballarat Road.
The ETA Factory is listed on the Victorian's Heritage Registered Places.
After the closer of ETA factory, the building has been used as a new & second hand car yard with attached servicing workshop. Unfortunately the building fell in disrepair and was vandalised and much of the original black & clear glass has been removed.
When the ETA factory was closed down, the building became a new & second hand car dealership with an attached servicing workshop.
The building has subsequently been redeveloped into a mix business centre and as the building is listed on the Victorian's Heritage Registered Places, the new property developers were required to restore a remnant of the original building's glass curtain wall.
