R.T. Pollard Gardens sits on the location of the former Sunshine Memorial Hall.

The park is named after Reginald Thomas Pollard who was an Australian politician. He was elected as the Member of Lalor and served as the Department of Commerce and Agriculture with the Chifley Government between 1946 and 1949.

​

Within the park there is also the City of Sunshine's Commemorative Stone for Hiroshima Day.
