In 1994, the Sunshine Athletic Club merged with the Footscray Athletic Club and the Werribee Athletic Club to form Western Athletics.

The new club colors were adopted from the three merged clubs' main colors; Blue - Sunshine, Red - Footscray & Yellow - Werribee. The Atom Symbol meaning unitity.

 

Western Athletic has gone on to be one of the premier clubs in the State winning many state team competitions and individual state & national titles.

When the club formed, the life members of the formation clubs became life members of Western Athletics.
